AUXFIN Uganda Showcases Digital Solutions at the Food and Nutrition Security Marketplace in Uganda
The Food and Nutrition Security Marketplace event held recently in Jinja, Uganda, brought together innovators, development partners, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and foster partnerships aimed at achieving sustainable food and nutrition security. Organized by the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), the event served as a vibrant platform for collaboration, showcasing initiatives that strengthen agricultural value chains, empower smallholder farmers, and promote inclusive growth.
The marketplace highlighted the growing importance of multi-stakeholder cooperation in tackling food insecurity and improving resilience in rural communities. High-profile participants included Mr. Bouwe-Jan Smeding, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Also in attendance were representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as organizations such as Common Ground, GOAL, and PCP.
For AUXFIN Uganda, participation in this event was made possible through the support of IFDC under the BRIGHT Project, which fully funded AUXFIN’s exhibition and continues to serve as one of the foundation’s strongest partners in digitalization. The collaboration between IFDC and AUXFIN is helping rural communities in Uganda and beyond leverage technology to increase access to financial services, agricultural information, and digital markets.
During the event, AUXFIN Uganda engaged with stakeholders to explore digitalization as a driver of inclusion and efficiency within Uganda’s food systems. The foundation’s participation underscored its role as a trusted digital partner—helping communities and institutions leverage technology to increase productivity, improve nutrition outcomes, and promote financial inclusion.
AUXFIN Uganda’s involvement aligns closely with the goal of empowering rural populations through digital access and financial connectivity. By joining the event, AUXFIN Uganda strengthened its partnerships with local and international actors, reaffirming its commitment to advancing innovative, partnership-driven solutions that contribute to resilient and food-secure communities across Africa.
