AUXFIN Joins Changemakers at World Food Day 2025
On October 16, 2025, AUXFIN Foundation joined leading voices in food systems transformation at the World Food Day 2025 event in the Netherlands. Organized by the Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, this annual gathering brings together changemakers from government, business, research, and civil society to take concrete steps toward ending hunger and strengthening sustainable food systems.
This year’s theme, “Partnerships that Feed the Future,” is a perfect match with AUXFIN’s approach and solutions, underscoring the critical role of collaboration in building resilient economies, restoring ecosystems, and ensuring long-term food security. Blending the depth of a professional conference with the vibrancy of a festival, the event serves as a one-day catalyst for action, encouraging partnerships that move beyond good intentions to deliver real-world impact.
The 2025 edition featured influential leaders shaping the global food agenda, including Namukolo Covic, Regional Director for East and Southern Africa at CGIAR and ILRI Representative to Ethiopia; Thijs Woudstra, Head of Food Security and Nutrition at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Isabelle Vreeke, Policy Coordinator for Food Security at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature; Lawrence Haddad, Executive Director of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN); Heske Verburg, Managing Director of Solidaridad Europe. Ivo Demmers, NFP Executive Director , emphasizes the event’s forward-looking nature, saying:
“This event provides the opportunity to think, respond, and look ahead on what’s happening in the future of food security—and how the Netherlands, through our knowledge institutions, private sector, NGOs, CSOs, and government, can contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal number two: zero hunger.”
For AUXFIN Foundation, participation in World Food Day 2025 is an opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate with like-minded organizations. Through its innovative digital platforms, AUXFIN is building digital highways across rural Africa, linking millions of smallholder farmers to financial services, agricultural knowledge, and markets. These connections empower communities to increase productivity, improve livelihoods, and strengthen local food systems.
Partnerships are integral to our work. Joining the World Food Day event thus allows us to engage with partners who share our goal: to leverage innovation and collaboration to make hunger history.
By joining this global network of actors, AUXFIN reinforces its commitment to partnership-driven solutions that foster digitalization and inclusion, helping transform food systems from the ground up and ensuring no one is left behind.
