Dakar, 9 april 2015, the Netherlands Residence receives the Dutch company AUXFIN for a technology conference called Universal Access Method Value (UMVA).
The UMVA Service connects issuers and recipients of funds and microfinance transferts. It allows Senegalese living in Europe to manage, online savings in Senegal and the remittance recipients to better manage the funds they receive. UMVA is an innovative alternative that could be very beneficial to the Senegalese economy.
Every year, the Senegalese economy receives about 876 billion FCFA in transfer of funds, mainly Senegalese living and working in France, Italy and Spain. This represents about 10% of GDP and more than twice the total of official development assistance. This figure only for items with "formal channels"; BCEAO estimated amounts that flow through informal channels amounted to about the same amount.
